How to Make Your Own Hand Sanitizer Spray!

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) says hand-washing with soap and water is the most effective way to clean your hands. If soap and water are unavailable, the CDC recommends using an alcohol-based (99%) isopropyl hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol. If you’re unable to find hand sanitizer in stores or want to avoid the general public there is an effective homemade hand sanitizer recipe you can make to help prevent the spread of disease.

These are the tools and ingredients that we need:
a. Tools:
- Large cup/bowl
- Spray Bottles
- Spoon
- Hand glove

b. Ingredients:
- Aloe vera gel
- Glycerin/Glycerol
- Ethanol alcohol (min 60%)
- Essential oil (optional)

Directions/Steps:
1. First, make sure that your hands are clean and sterile so that the hand sanitizer that you will make is not contaminated with bacteria. That's why you should use your hand glove before anything else.
2. Then prepare a large cup container to mix the ingredients, the second pour 3 cups of alcohol into the container.
3. Then add aloe vera gel. The aloe vera will add thickness and moisturize your skin. Stir until completely blended.
4. after that add glycerin and stir until evenly distributed.
5. This is optional but add in several drops of essential oil and blend (2-3 drops.) Essential oils will help mask the smell of alcohol. My personal favourite is Lavender!
6. Next, whisk all ingredients together and pour into a container (the spray bottle.)
7. Last, close the bottle tightly, and the Hand Sanitizer is ready to use.

How to use Hand Sanitizer:
Spray Hand Sanitizer liquid, then flatten all parts of the hands by rubbing into the palm of your hand, back of your hands, between your fingers, and your fingernails.
Here are the steps on how to make your own Sanitizer at home or anywhere.
